How to Murder Your Life by Cat Marnell

I had no idea what to expect when I jotted down this title a few months ago. I finally had a chance to read it...and it blew my mind.

Remember "A Million Little Pieces"?  The book Oprah raved about several years ago and then shattered the moment she found out the author may or may not have embellished a few drug induced moments....think of this book as "A Million Little Pieces" meets "The Devil wears Prada"...

This shocking but humorous memoir written by Cat Marnell takes what you think you know about prescription drug addiction and then drops you into the very dark side of it all....

Somewhat functioning, but still high beauty editor by day....insane, raging drug addict by night...

This book might not be for everyone...it can be pretty graphic and horrifying at times but she is witty and direct and crazily detailed with her stories.

It only took me 2 days to read and now I am obsessively googling this woman...ENJOY!

Other Page Turners.....

The Kind Worth Killing - Peter Swanson - Two strangers meet on a plane....one is unhappy with his wife in their marriage...the other says she can help get rid of her....yup...it's a good one!

Are You Sleeping? - Kathleen Barber - If you loved the podcast SERIAL..then you will love this book. A 13 year old murder is reopened... in a podcast...is the convicted killer actually innocent?? This book is through the eyes of the unfortunate family who lived this tragedy 13 years before....could you imagine your worst family nightmare being brought back to life to millions of people through a podcast? It's a page turner with all the social media of today mixed in!

All the Missing Girls - Megan Miranda - PAY ATTENTION...this book is told backwards from Day 15 to day 1...A woman goes back to her hometown to help with her aging father...what happened to her missing best friend 10 years prior gets played out in 15 days..finish to start.. I actually went back and reread to make sure I caught everything!

Cork Dork - Bianca Bosker -  I was glued to this book!  Living just steps away from the wine country here in Oregon makes this book just so fascinating!  A former tech editor with Huff Post embarks on a journey to become one of the few sommeliers in NYC. I was fascinated with the ins and outs of the underground wine world and made me question some of my own my own wine preferences...and how it was made....HIGHLY recommended!
